Malia Cohen for Supervisor
Fighting to Keep District 10 Working, Affordable, Healthy, and Safe
In 2014, San Francisco Supervisor Malia Cohen faced a competitive re-election campaign in District 10, which includes the Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, Bayview and Visitation Valley neighborhoods. Her challengers were well known community activists, who formed a coalition in attempt to unseat her through ranked-choice voting.
50+1 Strategies served as her general consultant for the race and managed every aspect of the campaign, including paid communications, voter contact, political outreach, and fundraising. In order to most effectively communicate with voters about her accomplishments, 50+1 Strategies developed a targeted field campaign and issue- and neighborhood-based messaging strategy.
We managed a robust volunteer and paid field program, which completed 123,000 attempts in a district with 36,000 registered voters.
Our team successfully communicated with and identified 90 percent of the votes that we needed to win, and secured nearly 50 endorsements from political clubs and neighborhood associations.
50+1 Strategies was able to deliver a strong victory for Supervisor Cohen, who defeated her opponents by 22 points on Election Day.
